A Flood Alert has been issued by the Environment Agency

Flood Alert in force: River Severn in Gloucestershire.

Flooding is possible for: River Severn from Tewkesbury to Gloucester.

Be prepared.

River levels have risen at the Mythe Bridge river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible overnight tonight, 04/12/23. We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent the River Severn from Tewkesbury to Gloucester.

Locations that may be affected include Apperley and Maisemore. Predicted peaks:- Mythe 3.4m to 3.7m Wed am, Haw Bridge 4.5m to 4.6m Wed am, Sandhurst 3.1m to 3.4m Wed am, Gloucester 2.6m to 2.9m Wed am.
Further rainfall is forecast over the next 24 hours, with further heavy rainfall Wednesday overnight into Thursday. We expect river levels to remain high until Thursday 07/12/23.

We are closely monitoring the situation and checking defences.
Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.

River levels are forecast to rise at the Mythe Bridge river gauge as a result of recent heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is expected to begin between 10pm and midnight today, Monday 13/11/23.  We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent the River Severn from Tewkesbury to Gloucester. Locations that may be affected include Apperley and Maisemore. Predicted peaks:- Mythe 3.1m to 3.6m Tuesday evening 14/11/23, Upper Pound Tewkesbury 3.2m to 3.6m Tuesday evening 14/11/23.   
Further rainfall is forecast over the next few days which may keep levels high. 
We are closely monitoring the situation.
