  1. Great to see Twigworth partaking in the remembrance celebration. Thanks to all involved.

On a different point, does anyone have any updates on the proposed Chestnut Tree Farm development, in particular what is happening with the pedestrian and vehicular access?

I understand that this will require a further planning application but have regularly checked the TBC planning site and have not seen anything.

I have however noticed an increase in recent activity around this area with new traffic monitoring sensors having been installed in the last couple of days, along with mark-up of the roads and pavements of all the underground services. Does anyone know if the two are related?

    1. Hello Graham, many thanks for your kind comments. The Chestnut Tree Farm planning application was objected to by the Twigworth Parish Council and then later refused by Tewkesbury Borough Planning Officer, It then went to appeal with HM Planning Inspectorate… TPC again made representations at the appeal but the Planning Application was ultimately approved. However, there were a quite a number of pre-commencement conditions which have to be complied with before any construction starts…. namely, improving the drainage and sewage infrastructure, provision of signalised pedestrian crossing point between A38/Ironbridge Road roundabout and A38/Sandhurst Lane… the provision of this crossing could have a another positive, with a reduction in speed through Twigworth! We shall be monitoring this development to ensure that all conditions are complied with. To answer your last point about the traffic monitoring, I do not know… is the honest answer…. but… it would seem logical that this was now being looked at as part of the pre-commencement conditions…. hope this helps, if you would a full copy of the HM Inspectorate Decision of Appeal or any further information…please contact me. Kind Regards, Cllr John Redfern. cllrredfern.twigworthpc@gmail.com

      1. Thank you for the reply. I have read the HM Inspectorate report on the application, but there were two matters that were reserved; pedestrian and vehicular access to/from the site. In the original application the developer had proposed a widening of Sandhurst Lane at the T junction with the A38. My understanding is that this is still subject to a further planning application? Has there been any further submissions relating to the lane widening?

        Kind regards,

        Graham
